Resource repurposing and water conservation
Zoos manage significant animal manure and organic waste streams. A Muckbuster paired with Flexibuster technology enables onsite treatment, converting manure and food waste into renewable energy and reusable fertiliser.
The system can integrate water recapture processes, reducing freshwater demand and supporting habitat irrigation. This enhances environmental stewardship and lowers operational expenditure.
For visitors, the technology reinforces the zoo’s conservation mission. Transparent sustainability infrastructure builds educational value while supporting grant funding and environmental accreditation efforts.
