SEaB Energy Selected as Top Innovator in Lantmännen Greenhouse Hackathon 2024

SEaB Energy is proud to announce its successful participation in the Lantmännen Greenhouse Hackathon 2024, an innovation-driven event aimed at accelerating sustainable solutions for the future of food and agriculture. After an intense and collaborative competition, SEaB Energy has been selected as one of the four companies to continue engaging with Lantmännen, one of Northern Europe’s leading agricultural cooperatives.

The Lantmännen Greenhouse Hackathon 2024 brought together pioneering companies and startups with game-changing solutions for sustainability in the food and farming industry. SEaB Energy’s innovative containerized anaerobic digestion technology stood out for its potential to transform organic waste into renewable energy and nutrient-rich biofertilizer, directly supporting Lantmännen’s vision of a circular and sustainable agri-food ecosystem.

“Being selected as one of the four companies to advance with Lantmännen is a testament to our commitment to decentralizing energy production and reducing carbon footprints in agriculture,” said Sandra Sassow, CEO of SEaB Energy. “We are excited to collaborate further and explore how our technology can integrate with Lantmännen’s operations to drive real-world impact.”

What's Next for SEaB Energy?

The next phase of this collaboration will focus on refining and adapting SEaB Energy’s solutions to fit Lantmännen’s agricultural and food processing infrastructure, paving the way for innovative applications that maximize waste valorization and energy self-sufficiency.

About the SEaB System

Flexibuster™ processing food waste

Biomethane, Bio CO2, and biofertilizer are the important products of our efforts.

It is encouraging to think about how we can mitigate the impact of methane in the atmosphere. As a greenhouse with 86 times more potent than CO2 for global warming and environmental degradation (ABDA, 2022).

SEaB implemented a circular economy project with Flexibuster for a food production site

But, how can SEaB technology effectively apply our technologies to value a powerful resource that is still seen as a remnant?

SEaB Energy can build on the work it has done with a commercial bakery in the UK to meet the needs identified during the Lantmännen Greenhouse Hackathon 2024. You can read more about bakery results here
